Turnberry Golf Course Improvements
In partnership with the City of Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, CESO delivered strategic upgrades to Turnberry Golf Course designed to enhance the player experience and maintain the course’s competitive edge in the public golf market. We designed each improvement to seamlessly integrate into the existing site layout to preserve playability, aesthetics, and the natural character of the grounds.

We approached these improvements by working closely with the City staff to assess how golfers moved through the course, where drainage issues interrupted play, and how major tournaments could be better supported. This insight shaped a plan that not only upgraded cart paths and addressed water management but also created more seamless staging areas for events. The result was a course that feels more intuitive to navigate and more resilient during heavy use or inclement weather.

To make these enhancements possible, CESO began with a thorough understanding of the land itself, surveying the site, capturing its nuances through base mapping, and translating that information into a cohesive design plan to guide the design decisions and site compliance. Even details such as parking lot restriping were considered through the lens of visitor convenience and flow. By focusing on both the technical and experiential sides of the project, we helped Turnberry Golf Course strengthen its reputation as a well-maintained, tournament-ready destination for the community.
