Walmart
For more than 20 years, CESO has provided civil engineering design services for Walmart Stores, Inc. During this time, we've been involved in the development of over 500 new store and/or store expansion projects throughout the Midwestern United States.
Our engagement with these projects has typically begun with Walmart's very intricate site selection process and progressed through post-construction inspections. Throughout each project, CESO assists the consulting real estate brokers and corporate real estate managers in assessing the physical site conditions and governmental requirements for potential sites and provides conceptual designs for the viable properties. Upon final selection of a site for a particular area, comprehensive civil design plans are developed, which typically include infrastructure design, transportation studies leading to roadway improvement design, environmental impact studies and necessary mitigation, off-site improvement design and extensive storm water management and erosion control design, in addition to the base site design.
A vital aspect of the services provided for Walmart is full support through the entitlement process. Well beyond completion and submittal of permit applications, often times this extends from providing presentation exhibits and support to the corporate and/or legal representatives to actually representing Walmart at public meetings/hearings. CESO ensures that all permits and approvals are issued and/or secured for issuance to the contractors prior to the project going out to bid.
To complete these projects, CESO provides extensive bid and construction documents, and then provides support and assistance to the corporate construction managers throughout the bid and construction phase. This facet of the projects extends to phased inspections throughout construction and final inspections upon completion of construction for the entire development.
